Klyde Warren Park + Food Trucks

It’s been raining a lot here in D/FW. For weeks. This is great for our drought situation, but now many areas are experiencing flooding. The rain also keeps the temperatures cooler. I am hoping there will be a dry afternoon so I can make it out to the Arboretum for a future blog post!

Anyway, in early Spring my family and I ventured to Klyde Warren Park. I had been wanting to check out some of the food trucks that are there and see what else the park had to offer.  It was a busy day as it was a weekend and the weather was gloriously sunny.

The park is above the Woodall Rodgers Freeway.

The area where the food trucks are parked can get very crowded as people line up for their food.  The number of trucks varies on the day, so if you want to go to a specific one it is best to check online to see who will be there.  Their hours are usually 11am to 3pm.

There are quite a few tables set up for people to sit down and eat. It’s all very casual so some hand sanitizer or wet wipes are not a bad thing to have on hand. I’d also suggest bringing cash as it makes things go faster. On the day we went, most of my group decided on the Nammi truck. They have Vietnamese fusion foods in taco form or noodle/rice bowls. Pick your meat and there you have it.

AK and I also hit up Coolhaus for dessert which has the most amazing and decadent ice cream cookie sandwiches. You get to pick the type of cookie AND the flavor of ice cream.  Yum.  I can personally recommend the Nutella ice cream with peanut butter cookies.  If that wasn’t enough, we also stopped at Trailercakes for some of their mini cupcakes, but since we were full, we got them in a to-go box.  Their trailer is named Bubbles and it will dispense bubbles from a machine near the tires. Quite the popular spot to be for the kiddos.

After we had our fill of food, we walked around the park for awhile.  There were lots of dogs, and there is a separate dog park area too.

Klyde Warren Park is located at 2012 Woodall Rodgers Freeway, Dallas, TX 75201, just north of downtown Dallas. There is paid parking at the nearby Dallas Museum of Art, valet parking, and nearby streets have metered parking. Suffice to say, parking most likely will cost you money, so again, bring cash.

I want to go back and try some other food trucks. It is a great, family-friendly place. Perfect for beautiful days when you don’t want to be stuck indoors.
