Atama x InstaDFW Present One By One DFW

Hello, hello! Happy Summer! I’ll be honest and say that I have been very lazy with this blog of late, but this is me making an effort. Sometimes when I stare at the blank text box, I often feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to start or what to say. This leads to further procrastination, and well, there you go.

Diving on in…

I love Mockingbird Station. There are several great places to eat and drink there as well as lots of shopping. In fact, I think I will give it its own blog post soon. This past weekend, there was a photography exhibit that I wanted to check out at Atama. They, in conjunction with InstaDFW were hosting One By One DFW, which featured mobile photography by local photographers. I wasn’t able to attend the opening night of the show, when all the party and fun stuff happened, but I went on Saturday afternoon instead.

Going on Saturday was really nice as I had the entire store to myself for the most part. I got to wander around and enjoy the 100 photos featured, and also squeal with delight at all the quirky items for sale in Atama.

One By One DFW was cool and the photography was all amazing. So many talented people!

I didn’t want to take too many photos of the exhibit as that felt wrong somehow. The photographer’s name and Instagram handle were also displayed so you could follow them, if you were so inclined.

Atama, by the way, is lovely. It’s the type of place you’d go to buy a really unique gift for that left-of-center friend you have. They have toys, art, and books, and most are produced in limited quantities.

I loved the One By One exhibit, and I hope they bring it back again next year. There are a lot of great photographers in DFW. Give the InstaDFW account a follow too, as you will see some very fine work.
